Why Hiking Mont Tremblant is a Hiker’s Dream

Hiking Mont Tremblant is a hiker’s dream because of the numerous trails. There is something for experienced and beginner hikers alike in this alpine getaway. To understand exactly what you’re in for when hiking Mont Tremblant, you must first grasp an appreciation of the area.

Mont Tremblant (literally translated as trembling mountain) is in Quebec, about an hour and a half north of Montreal. With a summit of 875 meters (3,150 feet), it is one of the tallest peaks in the Laurentian mountain range).

Mont Tremblant has been recognized year after year as the #1 ski resort in eastern North America. It currently has close to 100 marked downhill trials, the longest being almost four miles. The multitude of ski-trails, which snake and connect with other trails, present a labyrinth of options from which to choose.

For all of these reasons, hiking Mont Tremblant is a hiker’s dream.

Hiking Mont Tremblant’s 12 Trails

Mont Tremblant has hiking trails for experienced and beginner hikers. There are twelve trails, ranging in length from 1 to 20 kilometers roundtrip.

You don’t have to worry about bikers or automobiles, as hiking trails are limited to pedestrians only. Once you get to the top, you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views all around. If you don’t feel like hiking Mont Tremblant downward, there’s a gondola for rent that will take you down the mountain.

Hiking Mont Tremblant: 3 Safety Tips

Modest Goals: Depending on what shape you’re in hiking Mont Tremblant trails can be strenuous. This true no matter where you hike. Keep modest goals and don’t’ push yourself, especially if you aren’t an experienced hiker.

Map: Get in the habit of taking a map with you from the guide station when you go hiking.

Hire a Guide: If you’re hiking in unfamiliar territory, you might want to take a guide with you. In addition to not worrying about getting lost, guides can point out interesting things in the region you may not have though of.

If a guide is out of the budget, be sure to at least take a map of the area and carry a compass so you can redirect yourself if you get disoriented.

Hiking Mont Tremblant: The Right Gear

Backpack: This consists of a sturdy backpack with sturdy shoulder straps. You want to be comfortable while trudging around.

Hiking shoes: For light trips, hiking shoes are preferable to hiking boots because they are more lightweight and cooler, which leads to fewer (if any) blisters. Something to take note of in hiking shoes is the weight of the shoe. Experts recommend that they weigh less than two pounds, unless your foot is a size 13 or bigger.

Hydration Packs: When you exert yourself through an activity like hiking, you may become dehydrated. The best way to prevent this while hiking is by carrying a hydration pack, which are small backpacks that hold water.
